We recently had a chance to catch up with the legendary Donell Jones on Instagram Live for an interview.
The conversation started around his huge collaborative single with Jon B. last year on “Understand”. The song ended up being #1 on our list of the Top 100 R&B Songs of 2019.
Donell then talked about the new music he had been working on as a follow up to his 2013 album “Forever”.
We then took it back to his origins in the music industry, and he talked about his songwriting for other artists like Usher and 702. He then shared the story of how he originally got signed to LaFace after linking up with DJ Eddie F and The Untouchables.
The discussion then turned to reflections of each of the albums Donell Jones has released over the years, from the debut “My Heart”, to “Where I Wanna Be”, to “Life Goes On”, to “Journey of a Gemini”, to “Lyrics”, to “Forever”.
We ended our discussion by talking about how his music has been sampled quite a bit in recent years and some of the younger generation has been showing him respect.

We recently had a chance to catch up with Dondria for an interview on Instagram Live.
During our conversation, she talked about the new music she’s been releasing including latest singles “Take You There” and “Haunted”. She also touched on what to expect on her upcoming EP “Perspective”.
Dondria then talked about the approach she’s taken over the years to releasing EP’s and Mixtapes as opposed to just putting out another album. We also asked about the music she had created last year with her original mentor Jermaine Dupri.
The discussion turned to how Dondria originally was a YouTube star but still has been able to maintain longevity. She touched on how she’s never given up after all of these years.
Finally, we had a chance to have Dondria revisit her debut album “Dondria vs Phatfffat” and share her memories of creating that project.

We recently had a chance to catch up with superstar producer Darrell “Delite” Allamby for an interview on Instagram Live.
During our conversation, we first touched on his work with John John of Silk. The pair are currently working on creating John John’s debut solo album.
Delite of course has plenty of history with Silk and worked with them throughout his career. We specifically touched on his work on the “Tonight” album as well as Silk’s latest album “Quiet Storm”.
We took it back to the origins to hear the story of Delite’s first placement as a producer. He then filled us in on his production process and what goes into creating hit songs.
The producer reflected back on working on some of his biggest hits including “My Body” for LSG, “What’s It Gonna Be” for Janet Jackson & Busta Rhymes, and “Crazy” for K-Ci & JoJo. He also talked about working on Tamar Braxton’s debut album, and working with Gerald LeVert, Bobby V., Link, and more.

We recently caught up with Damion Hall of the legendary group Guy for an interview on Instagram Live. During our conversation, we discussed how he originally joined Guy following the release of the debut album. Then we got into his vocal talents and how he put those on display with his solo debut album. Damion gave us the history on how “The Future” album was created and how the guys came back together to record the “Guy III” album. Finally, we got the scoop on if there will ever be another Guy album.
