Another week of great R&B music to talk about. We start off the podcasting talking about the release of Musiq Soulchild's new album "Feel The Reel" and our thoughts on the double album. It's taken all of us quite some time to digest 20 something songs but we've finally listened to enough of it to formulate our opinions. We also talk about the recent announcement that Tamar Braxton's new album "Bluebird of Happiness" will be her final release. We try to decide whether she'll hold true to her word or if she'll come back eventually. We also touch on Toni Braxton's new single "Deadwood" which we feel leans towards the AC format. Another album that came out last week was Sammie's "Coming Of Age" so we give our thoughts on that project.

We also get into talking about new music from K. Michelle, Chris Brown, Pleasure P, Brooke Valentine, Craig David and Syleena Johnson. These artists are all putting out different types of R&B so we discuss whether the variety is good or if we've strayed too far away from the romance in R&B. Afterwards we talk about whether the lack of love in R&B is because of social media or if today's R&B is actually causing more ratchet behavior in society today.

For our hall of fame discussion, we try to nominate Al B. Sure! and TLC.

I know we just put out our last podcast week fairly recently but there's just so much to talk about in R&B. With new music released from the likes of K. Michelle, Miguel, Sam Smith and Musiq Soulchild, we just had to give you guys our opinion. We also get into the discussion of underrated R&B artists on this podcast including Kenny Lattimore. Along with that, we talk about upcoming albums from Toni and Tamar Braxton. We look at Tamar's impact on R&B right now and see how her discography matches up to her star status. Toni Braxton's new album "Sex and Cigarettes" was announced earlier in the week, so we try to figure out if Toni still has a place in music today and what we're expecting from her.

Then we get into our special topic for this episode which is simply choosing the best song from every artist. Not our favorite songs, but undeniably the best songs from all our favorite R&B artists. And for this week's hall of fame discussion, we continue our conversation on Anita Baker, Tevin Campbell and also nominate Frank Ocean.

It was a slow week in R&B but it's never a dull moment with us. We start off the podcast talking about some of our first concert experiences as Edd talks about his first Keith Sweat experience and Kyle talks about his first Ashanti experience. Afterwards we talk about taking 90's R&B albums for granted as there were albums that didn't get the love that they should have got. Afterwards we talk about some of the new singles that came out including Marsha Ambrosius, Musiq Soulchild and Sammie.

Afterwards we talk about the legacy of Day26 as they celebrate their 10 year anniversary. We also revisit R&B during the late 2000's and try to figure out why people have forgotten about artists that came out during that time period. Afterwards Edd talks about the list he published about the top R&B albums of the 2000's.

I can't believe it's already been 3 weeks but we're back with a podcast. There's so much to talk about this week as there have been a lot of releases in the time we've been away including Jazmine Sullivan, 112, Luke James, Keyshia Cole and Miguel. We look at each of these songs and give our feedback. Along with that, we talk about Brian McKnight's new album "Genesis" which was released very quietly. We also talk about the releases of Daniel Caesar's new album as well as Elijah Blake's "Audiology" project.

We also spend some time talking about the comments that Ledisi made about Urban AC. She said that the genre is getting a little boring and needs some excitement to it. We look at the different trends that are going on in Urban music such as the Jamaican influences as well as the trap productions and try to figure out where R&B can go from here. We also analyze our interview that we did with Tank last week and talk about where his career is headed as he releases his upcoming album "Savage". The songs we've heard so far as very trap influenced, so we talk about whether we'll ever see real R&B Tank again.

For this week's hall of fame discussion, we nominate Jill Scott and 112. Both have very strong credentials, but will they get into the hall of fame?

You know we had to come back with another podcast after the drama that came with this R&B this week. We start off the podcast talking about Musiq Soulchild's upcoming double album "Feel the Real". This is the follow up album to "Life On Earth" which only came out a year ago. We talk about our expectations for the album and if it's too soon to be putting out another album. We also talk about how it's weird that this era for Musiq has been rather quiet as his singles aren't really taking off. Afterwards we talk about some singles that are blowing up on Urban AC including Tamar Braxton's "My Man", Charlie Wilson's "Good Time" and Khalid's "Location".

We also talk about Tone Stith's new album "Can We Talk". Tone is a new artist and he has us excited with this youthful R&B/Pop sound. And of course, we had to talk about the incidents that happened to R&B legends R. Kelly and Usher this week. Although the incidents are different, we discuss whether they're both damaging to their respective careers. It's quite an interesting debate that we have and essentially it's up to everyone to decide whether they can separate the person from the music.

It looks like the R&B gods heard us after we complained about the lack of music being released over the past month because we have a lot to talk about this week. We start off the podcast talking about the throwback tour that TLC is headlining with Montell Jordan and Naughty By Nature. Afterwards we get into the career of Montell Jordan and talk about his current plans in music.

We get into some of the new releases that came out over the last two weeks including Sevyn Streeter's "Girl Disrupted", Daley's "The Spectrum" and Jagged Edge's "Layover". We point out some of the highlights in each of the albums as well as the disappointment we experienced with them, especailly Jagged Edge's. The combination of trendy sounds and autotuned vocals didn't help their case at all. We also talk about some new singles from the likes of Deborah Cox, Vivian Green, Dondria Nicole, June's Diary and of course the much anticipated release of 112's comeback single "Strawberry". We also talk about the career of Dawn Robinson and why we feel she wasn't able to make that leap into superstardom as a solo artist. We also talk about Tank's new single "When We" and whether it's fair to criticize him because he did warn us that he was going to stop making real R&B a few albums back.

Lastly for the hall of fame, we try to induct everyone's favorite artist Joe as well as popular rapper Drake.

We also talk about some of the albums that were just okay in our opinion including Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz and Charlie Wilson. We also talk about some of our favorite songs of the year so far from the likes of Musiq Soulchild, LeToya Luckett and Mali Music.

We also get into some more current news in music such as the impact of DJ Khaled and how it affects the genre of R&B. For our hall of fame discussion, we nominate Janet Jackson and Eric Benet. We start off talking about Omarion's cover of the classic Earth, Wind & Fire song "Reasons". We try to disregard the Maurice White comparisons and judge the cover for what it is. Afterwards, we talk about the release of legendary R&B singer Chaka Khan's new single with B. Slade. Afterwards we talk about Mario's song "Pain Is The New Pleasure" which will serve as the lead single for his upcoming project "Cosmo 17".

Later we talk about Tank's new trendy single "When We" which will be lead single for his new album "Savage". We talk about Tammy Rivera's new single "All Theses Kisses" and discuss which R&B stars have been able to create a career from reality TV. The two that come to mind are Tamar Braxton and K. Michelle. Then we get into our review on H.E.R.'s new project "Volume 2". We were huge fans of the first project, so we went into this one with huge expectations. For our main discussion, we talk about the lack of male R&B sex symbols in today's music industry. We talk about whether that's hurting R&B as a whole as there are no more people that speak to the ladies anymore.

We predict whether the comeback will be a success for them and we also discuss what we can expect from the project. Afterwards we talk about Bryson Tiller's new album and the samples that he used on the album. We also touch on the new trendy singles from Ledisi and Stokley Williams.

Afterwards we talk about Jhene Aiko's new single "While We're Young" and where she fits into today's landscape of R&B. We also talk about the new R&B/Hip Hop influenced records from Pop acts such as One Direction, Miley Cyrus and Adele. We talk about whether they hurt the culture by borrowing sounds from the genre. We then get into a conversation about LaFace Records and some of the great things that came from the era of Babyface and LA Reid.
